The focus on the relationship between economic development and better infrastructure is that the latter encourages the first. Countries or areas with better infrastructure attract economic development opportunities, this may be true but the good infrastructure must have been paid for somehow. Without economic development, how can funds be provided to sustain or support growing local infrastructure and service needs. The focus with the Southey Project will be to improve and maintain local infrastructure and services required to accommodate the project, as well as support surrounding communities in their plans to improve or maintain community infrastructure and services.
